No, reaching us is easy even though we are located inside the ZTL, right in the historic centre. If you arrive by train your stop is Ferrara, if you come by car your exit is Ferrara Sud and you must set Corso Porta Reno as your destination on your navigator. Once you have reached your destination, continue by car for another 30 metres and take the first left turn and you will find the Hotel Maxxim on the left-hand side of the road, at number 21 Via Ripagrande, inside the ZTL.

In order to authorise transit in the ZTL (zone A), on the day of your arrival you will have to communicate your licence plate number in response to a Whatsapp message from us, which we will send to the number you leave when you book. The number plate sent to us will then be registered in the Ferrara Municipal Police system. You will be able to transit in the ZTL (zone A) from 7:00 a.m. on the day of arrival to 7:00 p.m. on the day of departure. WARNING: If the number plate notification made is incorrect in letters and/or numbers, we are NOT responsible for handling any fines.

Inside Palazzo Beccari Freguglia you can still admire several authentic historic details, especially in the common areas: original columns and arches, stone staircases, handrails and architectural elements that reveal the soul of the residence.
The rooms, on the other hand, are designed to offer a completely contemporary experience—modern, comfortable, thoughtfully curated spaces where history remains the backdrop… and relaxation is unmistakably of today.

Absolutely. The old stables and the grand entrance door still tell that story.
You can’t arrive by carriage anymore (we’re in the ZTL), but if you share your licence plate number we’ll arrange your access straight away: the means may change, but the welcome stays the same.

A fun detail everyone loves: the grilles were there for protection… from bandits!
Today they remain as a reminder of a time when travel was a real adventure—and they’ve become one of the hotel’s most photographed features.

The most recent full renovation dates back to 2018.
It was a major project that brought the residence back to its original elegance, integrating technology and comfort without losing its historic character.

Simple: no one else is an officially recognised Dimora d’Epoca.
Staying at Maxxim means experiencing Ferrara from the inside, in its most authentic and noble setting—where Este history meets modern hospitality.
